SignalPoint Systems LLC, doing business as Craft & System, operates this website and The Author's Blueprint licensing service. This policy covers those services and our emails. Sales are currently limited to customers in the United States. Our contact details are at the end of this page.

Your writing stays on your computer

The desktop app stores manuscripts, outlines, notes, and other project content on your computer. It does not upload that content to us or to an AI service. You control exported files and any backups you place in a cloud folder. If you choose to send us project content for support, we will receive what you send. Activation and periodic license checks require internet access. The app allows up to 14 days of offline use between checks, with read-only access and exports available afterward.

Information we handle

• Account and purchase information. Your email address, license key, order and payment references, purchase status, and payment, refund, and dispute information help us deliver purchases, provide sign-in and recovery, support customers, and keep business records.
• Activation information. Device identifiers, the device name supplied by the app, app version, and activation and last-seen dates help us enforce the three-device limit and manage your devices. These identifiers can be linked to your purchase; they are not anonymous.
• Technical and security information. IP addresses, request information, timestamps, sign-in and licensing events, and rate-limit records help us operate the service, diagnose failures, and prevent fraud and unauthorized access. Our hosting and delivery providers also process technical connection information.
• Support messages. We receive your email address, message, and any attachments or details you choose to send. Please do not send payment-card numbers, passwords, or unrelated sensitive information.
• Newsletter information. If you request the newsletter, we record your email, confirmation and consent details, and subscription preferences. Resend handles contacts, delivery, and unsubscribe status. Buying the app or creating an account does not subscribe you.
• Affiliate information. We keep applications, approval status, referral identifiers, sale amounts and currency, commissions, adjustments, and payout records. Affiliates see their own commission totals and sale dates, not buyer emails or license keys. Payment and tax details may be needed before a payout and are requested through a secure method.

Payments and service providers

Stripe hosts checkout and processes payments. You provide billing and payment details directly to Stripe; our app and website do not receive your full card number. We receive purchase details needed to deliver the license, handle refunds and disputes, and account for sales. Stripe also processes information for its own payment, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes.

We share information with providers as needed for payments, email, hosting, downloads, and support. See our service provider information. We may also disclose information when legally required, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect people and the service from fraud or abuse. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Cookies and newsletters

We use a sign-in session cookie and, only if you choose to remember a referral, an optional affiliate cookie lasting up to 30 days. Our website does not currently include an advertising or analytics tracker. See the Cookie Policy for controls. Stripe's checkout has its own cookie and privacy information.

Newsletter signup requires confirmation by email. You can unsubscribe using the link in every newsletter or by emailing us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential purchase, security, or account emails. We retain the subscription preferences needed to respect your opt-out.

How long we keep information

We retain purchase, license, and activation records while needed to support your license. Accounting, refund, dispute, affiliate, and payout records may need to remain longer for applicable legal obligations or unresolved claims. Support and security records are retained according to their purpose and whether an issue or investigation remains open. Retention also depends on provider policies and backup cycles; a deletion request does not immediately remove every backup copy.

Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and newsletter confirmation links after 24 hours. Expired tokens stop working immediately; their records are cleaned up during later requests. Confirmed consent records and suppression preferences may remain to document permission and prevent unwanted emails.

Your choices and requests

Contact us to request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of your information. We will verify your identity in a way appropriate to the request and explain any information we need to retain or any effect on license recovery and support. We do not ask you to email identity documents or full payment details as a routine verification step.

Additional rights and response deadlines may apply under the laws where you live, including rights to object, restrict processing, appeal a decision, or complain to a regulator. We honor applicable rights and do not retaliate against people for exercising them. You can withdraw optional cookie consent or newsletter consent at any time.

Location and security

We are based in the United States. Service providers may process information in other countries. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your request. We use access controls, encrypted connections, and other safeguards, but no service can promise absolute security.

Children

Our website, accounts, and newsletter are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.

Changes

We update this notice when our practices change and revise the date above. Where required, we will provide notice or obtain consent before using information for a materially different purpose.
