Accessibility Statement
Craft & System · Last updated June 2026
Craft & System wants everyone to be able to use our website and The Author's Blueprint, regardless of ability or the assistive technology they rely on. Accessibility isn't a one-time checkbox for us — it's something we keep working at as the product grows.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA across both our website and our desktop app. These guidelines explain how to make digital products more usable for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, motor, hearing, and cognitive needs. We treat AA as our standard and design new features with it in mind.
What we do
Here are concrete measures we take across the website and, where they apply, the desktop app:
- Semantic HTML— we use real headings, lists, landmarks, and labels so screen readers can convey structure and meaning, not just text.
- Keyboard navigation— you can reach and operate interactive elements without a mouse, in a logical, predictable order.
- Visible focus styles— the element you're on is clearly indicated so keyboard users always know where they are.
- Color-contrast care— we choose text and interface colors that aim to meet AA contrast ratios, and we don't rely on color alone to communicate meaning.
- Reduced-motion support— we respect the operating-system “reduce motion” preference and tone down or remove non-essential animation when it's set.
- Readable typography in the app— The Author's Blueprint bundles the OpenDyslexic font and lets you adjust font size and line spacing, so you can tune the writing environment to what's comfortable for you.
Known limitations
We want to be honest: we're a small studio, and not every part of the product is perfect yet. Some complex interface areas may not be fully optimized for every assistive technology, and a few third-party components and embedded content may fall short of our goals. We treat issues like these as bugs and work to fix them. If you hit something that's hard to use, please tell us — real reports are the fastest way for us to improve.
Reporting a problem
If you run into an accessibility barrier on our website or in The Author's Blueprint, email us using the address below. It helps if you can include the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology, browser, or operating system you were using — but even a quick note is welcome. We read every message and aim to respond within a reasonable time, and we'll work with you to find a fix or a workaround.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is never finished. We review it as we add features, fold in feedback from the people who use our software, and update this statement as things change. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
